This year, may you make a pledge to yourself to help bring at least one other person to Christ. To assist you in answering the tough questions about the truth of Christ and of Faith, may I recommend reading either of two books, "The Case for Christ" and/or "The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel. These books can be obtained at any Christian book store or on the web. These books are easy reads and in "The Case for Faith", the writer looks at the following "big eight" nagging objections against having faith: 1 Since evil and suffering exist, a loving God cannot 2 Since miracles contradict science, they cannot be true 3 Evolution explains life, so God isn't needed 4 God isn't worthy of worship if He kills innocent children 5 It's offensive to claim Jesus is the Only way to God 6 A loving God would never torture people in hell 7 Church history is lettered with oppression and violence 8 I still have doubts, so I can't be a christian Conclusion: The power of faith Appendix: A summary of "The Case for Christ" Back to Top |
